Art Therapy

Who can benefit from art therapy?
At Sanctuary Counselling & Art Therapy, the aim of art therapy is to facilitate positive change through engagement with the therapist and the art materials in a safe environment.
It is a powerful form of self-expression and can bring people relief from overwhelming emotions, crises, or trauma using techniques such as drawing, painting, sculpting, collage sand tray or colouring as a form of self-expression and is helpful for anyone who has difficulty verbalising their feelings.
Neither previous artistic experience nor natural artistic ability is necessary for a successful session to take place.
Art therapy is not used to create a masterpiece, but to explore feelings and issues in our life through the creative process. It’s about connecting deeply within to find our personal meaning through our own unique expression. There is no right or wrong in art therapy.
